Prides
Pride parades and festivals are celebrations of the LGBT culture, and also demonstrations for the legal rights. The word pride is used as an antonym for shame, which has been used to control and oppress LGBT persons throughout history.
There can be a huge difference from country to country, which character the pride event has. Here in the western Europe a pride is usually a big party, but e.g. in the eastern Europe it's still often a struggle for the basic human rights.
