About me

I was born 14th of February 1967 in Helsinki, Finland, and i spend my childhood and youth in the capital area (Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo in Southern Finland). In 1988 i moved to Denmark, where i have lived in many parts of the country (Zealand, Funen and Jutland).

Now i live in Copenhagen - or more precisely in Copenhagen's new neighbourhood Ørestad - together with my spouse Tate. Our home is located in northern part of the area, and we were some of the first residents in Ørestad.

I have many interest - both creative and practical - and fortunately i'm able to combine many of them with my work and other duties.

Work and business

• Gardener and educator at Association Blågård-Kapelvej (Foreningen Blågård-Kapelvej) - shortly just "Blå Kapel" - an environmental organization working both on education and with practical tasks. We take care of our members courtyards using non-polluting methods, organizing recycling and educating people on related environmental topics.

I'm active in several non-profit organizations and groups:

• Friends of City Oasis. City Oasis (ByOasen) is a project that combines urban farming and social activities. The place is located at Nørrebro nearby Copenhagen city center.

• Ørestad Urban Gardens (Ørestad Urbane Haver) is a collection of small organic kitchen gardens located in urban development area Ørestad South in Copenhagen.

• The Danish Sauna Society (Det Danske Saunaselskab) has the function to preserve the traditional sauna culture, spread information about it, correct wrong impressions about the sauna and emphasize the meaning of sauna bathing for a healthy life.

• The Danish Heart Foundation (Hjerteforeningen) primarily engages in heart patient support, research and prevention of disease. With its more than 100.000 members, it is one of the largest organizations for combating disease in Denmark. Our local club, the Heart Foundation's local committee Ørestad and Amager West, has about 1.300 members.

• Ørestad Nordic Walking Club (Foreningen Ørestad Stavgang) is an organization focusing on "nordic walking" , or "pole walking", and all kind of walking exercise in the Ørestad area. The main target group is older people. The club has a very near co-operation with the Heart Foundation.

• LGBT Denmark (LGBT Danmark) works for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual people's political, social, cultural and workplace equality at every level of society. The association seeks to work against discrimination and to function as a dedicated lobby for the purpose of influencing lawmakers, for example in areas such as marriages, adoption, and the artificial insemination of lesbians.
